I was asked on what would I speak regarding fathers on Fathers’ Day. At first, I honestly did not know. There has been so much said about fathers and fatherhood. What could I add to that? Then I thought, what does the Bible have to say about fathers. I got as far as Genesis 2.

In this life you will have problems. It is as if someone intentionally set up this whole thing so we are forced out of our comfort zones and are required to confront problems or be dominated by them. Maybe that is the case. Maybe we are here to solve problems; or at least learn how to solve problems.

Now “God is able” may be news to some, old news to others, unbelievable to some more others, and even in the church misunderstood. It seems popular in current times to denigrate, defame, and ridicule Christianity. It is not all that nouvelle to do. It is just the current rendition of a practice nearing 2000 years old: mock Jesus. C’mon. It is not like it isn’t easy. It is not like there will be immediate retribution. It is not like there will be repercussions. And since there isn’t, people bash away. And Christians in their ignorance or timidity tolerate this, permit this. It is like most ‘Christians’ have not read their book or do not really believe it.
