A Study on Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer

“GOD is GOD and Jesus Christ is Lord”

We should, at all times, pray.
o Luke 18.1; 1 Thess. 5.16-18

Intercession:
* Take up for yourself their case
* Take their place in prayer
* Advocate for them

Isaiah 46.9-10 NIV
“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I AM GOD, and there is no other: I AM GOD, and there is none like ME. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

Jeremiah 29.11 NIV
“For I know the plans I have made for you, “ declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

John 17.20-21 NIV
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.”

Intercessory Prayer:

GOD:
* Be GOD, YHWH El-Shaddai, El-Shammah, El-Adonai
* Isaiah 46.10 be done today and everyday, through out time.
* Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
* Be Lord and GOD All Mighty.
* Do YOUR WILL over and above all other prayers. Turn a deaf ear or return correction, but DO NOT HEED other than Your Word or Will.

The Church, The Body of Christ:
* Open the eyes blinded to Your Gospel.
* Put a hunger for You above all other things deep in their spiritual hearts, a desperate hunger.
* Draw them together, a mighty flood.
* Raise up to Yourself righteous shepherds, wise and full of valor, for Your people.
* Cause them to love one another as You have loved them.
* Fill them all wholly and completely with Your Holy Spirit.
* Present them before Yourself a Holy Nation, without spot or wrinkle.
* Show me Your heart concerning Your people that I might pray for them.

As you pray, pray this way…

Our Father Who is in Heaven, hallowed be Your Name …
* Praise GOD your Father through the shed blood of Jesus and the Cross at Calvary.

Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done on Earth as it is done in Heaven …

* Pray HIS Will and Kingdom over:
o Yourself
o Family
o Church
o The pastor, staff, leadership, grounds, property
* And their families
o Your nation, state/province, local governments
o For wisdom, peace, right minds, and salvation
o For strength and courage to do what is right
o For right government; and for their families
o For the Harvest: N, S, E, & W
o For all who are not yet in Jesus Christ

Give us today our daily bread …
* The Lord is my provision! Is 55.1; 2Co 9.8; Ep 3.20; Ph 4.19
* Believe it is GOD’s will to prosper you. Dt 28.1-14; Je 29.11
* Be specific of your known needs. Ph 4.6
* Be tenacious, be persistent. Pray and do not give up! Lk 18.1
* Believe it is GOD’s will to redeem you. Joel 2.19, 23-27
* ONLY BELIEVE! Mk 5.36; 9.23; 11.22-24

Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us …
* Forgive to be forgiven. Mt 6.14-15
* Pray the LORD search you out. Ps 139.23-24
* Confess your sin, repent, and be forgiven. 1Jn 1.9
* Make it your will to forgive others just as the Father has forgiven you. Jn 5.19-20

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil …

* The LORD upholds you and makes your way firm. Ps 37.23-24
* Jesus prayed you would be protected. Jn 17.15
* Put on the WHOLE armor of GOD, put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Ep 6.14-19

* Pray a hedge of protection around yourself.

* Pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Ep 6.18

For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen.
