It seems popular in current times to denigrate, defame, and ridicule Christianity. It is not all that nouvelle to do. It is just the current rendition of a practice nearing 2000 years old: mock Jesus. C’mon. It is not like it isn’t easy. It is not like there will be immediate retribution. It is not like there will be repercussions. And since there isn’t, people bash away. And Christians in their ignorance or timidity tolerate this, permit this. It is like most ‘Christians’ have not read their book or do not really believe it.

One of the leading causes of death in the US is heart disease. Medical science has observed that the choices one makes determines the health of the heart over one’s life time. What one takes in impacts the heart; sometimes immediately, sometimes over years. It is what is allowed in that determines heart health.

Paul, the apostle and teacher, servant of Jesus Christ, said some difficult things about the role of women in the church. And, he really did not elaborate on the subject. Which means, if we do not approach these verses in love and seeking understanding we quickly come to dogma and rules. In other words, a new Law. God never intended that we should have another set of rules to replace the set of rules that Jesus fulfilled. 1st Timothy, chapter 2 is one such passage that, if approached outside of love – the giving kind, becomes a set of rules or laws.

If all we do is study the Bible to study the Bible we only have another religion. And, too many do. If we study the Bible to better know who God is, to learn His voice, to learn what it is He has done, to learn what it is He will do and will do again, so we can have a relationship with Him, then we study the Bible to better support a relationship – not a religion.
