Years ago I was introduced to the term “stealth wealthy.” My friend made the observation that there are people who have lots of money but do not “look” like that have as much as they do. I have since come across the “stealth poor.” Those who look wealthy but are not. Interesting.
The stealth wealthy have learned that it is not appearance nor money that makes one wealthy. It is the investments researched and wisely made. The difference between rich and wealthy is a mindset only. Both may have assets and money, but the rich spend on want. The wealthy make investments that last into the third or fourth generation. Not all of the investments by the wealthy are in stuff. The investments with greatest returns are in people. It is people who manage, maintain, grow, and innovate the holdings of the wealthy.
The stealth poor spend with little thought to longevity or the generations. It is all about them, the appearance, and their immediate need. They may or may not have significant income nor access to capital. It matters little, as long as there is the appearance of riches. People matter little. To the stealth poor, people are a means to an end. The stealth poor are poor but appear rich. It is a façade and a bubble that will burst. Do not worry. Another stealth poor will step in and replace the previous with condolences or the backstabbing vitriol of a Roman senator.
Me? I am neither. I am an observer only, whose opinion matters mostly to himself. A bystander making note of the players on the field.
